Mankessim

Mankessim is a large town in the Central Region of Ghana.

Located 115km west of Accra along the main Accra-CapeCoast Road, and 63km east of Cape Coast, Mankessim is recognized from the main road by it's large roundabout and busy roadside markets.

 However, Mankessim is best known for it's posuban shrine, which is probably the biggest and most artistic in Ghana. The shrine is located inland from the roundabout on the main road, but serves at the very least as an interesting detour for travellers heading through the town.
